Life in the Fastlane

Hello one and all! As a tribute to the second love of my life, Stephanie, it's time for an update. Steph recently visited me at the beginning of June and we decided that we would make more of a conscious effort to update our blogs so that we could stay tuned in on the day-to-day stuff. I struggle with my blog, because I really want to make it good... but I know that quite frankly, my life isn't all that interesting. So read it, don't read it... makes no difference to me!

I start a new job tomorrow! It all happened so fast I've hardly had a chance to come to terms with it! I'll relay the simplified version of the story. I job shadowed the Director's Assistant in my department for a half day a couple months back. She recently got promoted to a VP Assistant upstairs. I sent her a congratulatory email. She talked to my boss, my boss talked to her boss, and her boss talked to the director herself... all of whom wanted me to apply. Color me flattered. I applied. I had four interviews, HR rep., head admin in our building, the director herself, and my boss' boss... all in the span of one week. I was offered the job on Wednesday. I start Monday! Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am. I am sooo nervous, but very excited. Main sadness... not getting to sit close to these guys anymore:

I will be just across the floor, so I really can't complain too much, but seriously, I have the best co-workers a gal could ask for. Love them.

Paul is in Atlanta tonight for a big presentation! He will be back tomorrow, but it's really weird not having him home. I didn't anticipate how much I would miss him! In the mean time, I'm enjoying some me time. Watching endless Office episodes off the DVR, eating Sushi, and anticipating the annual trip to the lake for the fourth.

Speaking of... I leave you with one of my favorite commercials ever (seriously, I kinda wish I were exaggerating, but it makes me bust out laughing EVERY time I see it):
